China tissue paper industry research tour in ShandongFirst stop: Yongfang Hygiene Products and Dongshun GroupFrom November 4 to 8, 2024, a delegation from CNHPIA conducted a field visit to enterprises in the tissue paper and hygiene products industry in Shandong Province. The delegation visited 11 companies, including Yongfang (Jinan) Hygiene Products Co., Ltd., Dongshun (Shandong) Pulp and Paper Group Co., Ltd., and Shandong Sun Paper Co., Ltd., to gain a comprehensive understanding of their production operations. During these visits, the delegation held discussions with company executives, toured facilities, and learned about the latest developments and future plans of these companies, exploring industry trends together. On November 4, the delegation visited Yongfang Hygiene Products Company and Dongshun Group, touring Yongfang (Jinan) Hygiene Products Co., Ltd. and Dongping Dongshun Industrial Park. During this visit, they held discussions with company leaders. In response to new market conditions, Dongshun Group is prioritizing quality, adapting proactively, diversifying its product lines, and expanding market channels. This approach has enabled them to achieve growth and success amid new challenges.Second stop: Shandong Sun Paper Co., Ltd.On the afternoon of November 4, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Shandong Sun Paper Co., Ltd. to conduct research and held discussions with the company’s tissue paper division representatives. They exchanged insights on technical research and development, market sales, and production operations. On the morning of November 5, the delegation visited the Sun Paper Cultural Exhibition Hall, the tissue and cultural paper production workshops, and the water treatment center. With large pulp and tissue companies like Sun Paper entering tissue industry, a new development landscape is emerging within the sector.Third stop: Shandong ZhuoBi Maternal and Infant Products Co., Ltd.On the afternoon of November 5, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Shandong ZhuoBi Maternal and Infant Products Co., Ltd. They visited the company’s showroom and diaper production workshop, followed by a discussion and exchange session. Since 2016, Shandong ZhuoBi has been engaged in the development of online laminated cores, initiating mass production in 2018, and has adhered to a differentiated ODM strategy.Fourth stop: Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp and Paper Co., Ltd.On the morning of November 6, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp and Paper Co., Ltd. They visited the company’s showroom, tissue paper, pulping and Lyocell production lines, and the urban reclaimed water reuse plant, followed by a discussion and exchange session. Asia Symbol entered the tissue paper industry with a high starting point and continues to uphold the concept of sustainable development, striving for innovation and high-quality growth in the pulp and paper industry. Fifth stop: Rizhao Huatai Paper Co., Ltd.On the afternoon of November 6, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Rizhao Huatai Paper Co., Ltd. They visited the company’s extensible paper production workshop and product showroom, followed by a discussion and exchange session. Rizhao Huatai has been focusing on its core business of “paper replacing plastic” through extensible paper, while actively expanding its fluff pulp business and accelerating its development in the hygiene products industry.Sixth stop: Shandong Hengan Paper Co., Ltd.On the morning of November 7, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Shandong Hengan Paper Co., Ltd. They visited the production lines for tissue parent roll and post-processing, followed by a discussion and exchange session. The company boasts a comprehensive quality inspection system, establishing itself as a benchmark in the industry. Seventh stop: Weifang Henglian Lancel Hygiene Products Ltd.On the morning of November 7, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Weifang Henglian Lancel Hygiene Products Ltd. They visited the post-processing workshop and tissue parent roll production workshop, followed by a discussion and exchange session. Henglian Lancel has been dedicated to the production and R&D of absorbent liner paper for hygiene products in the tissue paper industry, driving its transformation towards the high-end market. Eighth stop: Dezhou Shenggang Paper Co., Ltd.On November 7, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Dezhou Shenggang Paper Co., Ltd. They visited the tissue parent roll production and post-processing workshops, followed by a discussion and exchange session. Shenggang Paper impressed the delegation with its advantages in cogeneration and operational flexibility. Ninth stop: Shandong Hengfa Hygienic Products Co., Ltd.On the morning of November 8, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Shandong Hengfa Hygienic Products Co., Ltd. They visited the production workshop and product showroom, followed by a discussion and exchange session. Hengfa places great emphasis on R&D and innovation, striving to enhance product quality. Tenth stop: Shandong Kunsheng Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. On the afternoon of November 8, the delegation from CNHPIA visited Shandong Kunsheng Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. They held discussions and visited the company’s tissue paper production workshop. “2024 China International Paper Innovation and Development Forum” successfully held On September 24, the “2024 Paper Technology Week”, co-hosted by the China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute and China Technical Association of Paper Industry, kicked off at the Wuhan International Expo Center in Hubei. This forum focused on current hot topics, exploring themes of “innovation, green development, intelligent manufacturing, market dynamics, and sharing”. It included four main sessions: keynote speeches, innovation empowerment, green intelligent manufacturing, and market insights, featuring 14 presentations on topics such as new production capacities, effective conversion of innovation outcomes, raw material supply and market analysis, green manufacturing, energy conservation, emission reduction, and quality enhancement. CNHPIA delegation’s visit to Turkey & Europe - First stop: Lila Kağıt in Turkey On October 17, a delegation of six, including Cao Baoping, Deputy Secretary General of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Guan Qiming, General Manager of Foshan Qisheng Hygiene Products Co., Ltd., Li Hanfan, General Manager of New Sense Hygiene Products Co., Ltd., and Li Peien, Deputy General Manager of Guangdong Kawada Sanitary Products Co., Ltd., visited the headquarters of Lila Kağıt in Turkey. The two sides discussed the development of e-commerce and engaged in in-depth exchanges on the characteristics of the tissue paper markets in Turkey and China, including channels, consumption habits, and retail brand proportions.Second stop: Selüloz ve Kağıt Sanayii VakfıOn October 17, the delegation of six visited Selüloz ve Kağıt Sanayii Vakfı. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the product structure of tissue paper, retail brand status, the development of e-commerce channels, and consumer habits. In the Turkish tissue paper market, toilet paper holds the largest share at 50%, followed by paper towels (kitchen towels and hand towels) at 30%, while facial tissues represent a smaller portion. The differences in product structure between China and Turkey also reflect the cultural and consumption habit variations between the two countries. Third stop: EDANA, JHPIA, and CNHPIA Exchange and Sustainable Development MeetingOn October 16, European Disposables and Nonwovens Association (EDANA), Japan Hygiene Products Industry Association (JHPIA), and the China National Household Paper Industry Association (CNHPIA) held a successful meeting on international sustainable development at EDANA’s headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Representatives from each association shared insights on topics such as greenhouse gas regulations in various regions and methods for calculating the carbon footprint of hygiene products. The participants unanimously agreed to jointly guide the global hygiene products industry toward a green, low-carbon, and sustainable future. They also discussed the timing and location for the next meeting.
