Pinglu Canal Officially Opens, Continuously Boosting Logistics Efficiency of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor

On the morning of September 16, the Pinglu Canal, the backbone project of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, was officially opened. Along with the opening of the Pinglu Canal, two new freight routes were launched for two-way shipping, namely the foreign trade route "Nanning — Can Tho, Vietnam" and the domestic trade route "Nanning — Yangpu, Hainan". According to CCTV News, 30 cargo vessels passed through the Pinglu Canal on September 16. Nanning Port and Qinzhou Port focused on the maiden voyage operations of cargo vessels. The cargoes mainly fall into two categories: containers and bulk cargo, covering building materials, coal, minerals, steel, chemical fertilizers and other supplies.
