Import and Export of China's Tissue Paper and Hygiene Products in the First Half of 2025

    In the first half of 2025, the export volume of tissue paper was 778,300 tons, an increase of 19.06% compared with the same period in 2024, and the export value was 1.219 billion US dollars, a decrease of 1.77% compared with the same period in 2024, showing a trend of increasing volume and decreasing price. The total import volume of tissue paper increased compared with the same period in 2024, but the import volume was very small, only 22,300 tons.
    
The total export volume of absorbent hygiene products was 840,400 tons, and the export value was 2.203 billion US dollars, both maintaining double-digit growth, increasing by 16.01% and 11.00% respectively. Baby diapers still dominated the export products, accounting for 42.83% of the total export volume. The export volume of baby diapers was 359,900 tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.07%. The import of absorbent hygiene products remained small, with a total import volume of 12,100 tons, which had little impact on the domestic consumer market.
    In the first half of 2025, the export volume of wet wipes was 467,300 tons, an increase of 17.84% compared with the same period in 2024, and the export value of wet wipes reached 678 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.52%. The total import volume of wet wipes was still very small, only 12,186.44 tons. Domestic wet wipe production capacity and categories can meet market demand.
