The 30th China International Disposable Paper Expo (CIDPEX), organized by China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CNPPRI) under the Sinolight Corporation, and co-organized by Vinda International Holdings Ltd, Baosuo Paper Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd., Foshan Xinfei Hygiene Materials Co., Ltd., OK Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Xiamen C&D Paper & Pulp Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Zhidesheng Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully held at the Nanjing International Expo Center from May 12th to 16th, 2023 (FOCUS Conference on May 12th-13th, Exhibition on May 14th-16th). The expo covered 80,000 square meters, featuring nearly 900 industry enterprises and attracting over 40,000 professional visitors to the annual industry event.
The year 2023 marked the 30th anniversary of both the China National Household Paper Industry Association (CNHPIA) and CIDPEX. On the evening of May 13th, the organizer held the “Hand in Hand for Thirty Years, Carrying Forward the Legacy and Charting a New Chapter – 30th Anniversary Celebration of CNHPIA & CIDPEX” at the Nanjing International Expo Conference Center, reviewing the development achievements of the past three decades together with the industry. During the ceremony, Wang Keling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Sinolight Corporation; Dr. Cao Zhenlei, Chairman of China Technical Association of Paper Industry (CTAPI) and Director of CNHPIA; Ms. Sun Bo, Assistant General Manager of Sinolight Corporation, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman, and General Manager of CNPPRI, along with industry enterprise representatives, jointly inaugurated this year’s expo, officially opening the 30th CIDPEX.
On the morning of May 14th, Sun Bo, Assistant General Manager of Sinolight Corporation and Chairman of CNPPRI, along with Cao Baoping, Deputy General Manager of CNPPRI and Director of the Household Paper Center, accompanied Xie Li'an, Level Ⅱ Bureau Rank Official of the Department of Consumer Goods Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Wang Keling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Sinolight Corporation; Jiang Hao, Deputy General Manager, and others on a tour of the expo. They engaged in face-to-face communication with some exhibitors, learning about their production, operations, and featured products/equipment, and fully affirmed the bridging role CIDPEX plays for the industry. Dr. Cao Zhenlei, Chairman of CTAPI and Director of CNHPIA; Zhao Wei, Chairman of the China Paper Association; Zhang Yulan, Secretary-General of CNHPIA, as well as leaders from leading industry enterprises such as Hengan and Vinda, also visited the expo.

CIDPEX 2023 featured five pavilions: Tissue Paper Pavilion, Disposable Hygiene Products Pavilion, Raw & Auxiliary Material Pavilion, Machinery Pavilion, and Health & Medical Care Industry Pavilion, covering the upstream and downstream of the industry chain of tissue paper and disposable hygiene products sectors. Building on previous editions, the expo further explored new market potential, expanded the exhibit range, and innovated in display formats, creating a one-stop trade platform for industry professionals.
Simultaneously, CIDPEX, integrated with the innovative digital “Cloud Service Platform,” optimized expo services through digital technology, including online pre-registration, electronic credentials, pre-show online preview, electronic directory, booth location, and online subscription to on-site materials – allowing exhibitors and visitors to enjoy a professional and convenient new experience via cloud services.
Alongside the physical expo, the Cloud Service Platform’s domestic and overseas websites launched the Cloud CIDPEX, incorporating diverse functions such as enterprise activity live streams, Focus Conference replays, online theme pavilions, online networking, and virtual booths, making online participation a powerful supplement to the offline event.

Ø Tissue Paper Pavilion: Enriching the Experience of Paper Product Usage
The Tissue Paper area gathered leading enterprises from national and regional markets such as Hengan, Vinda, Gold Hongye, Libang, Yusen, Vanov, Botare, Jinboshi, Orient Champion, Hulijia, Kaisheng, Jiangnan Paper, Yashi, and Sipiao. Companies launched a range of trendsetting new products targeting different scenarios and consumer groups, upgrading post-processing techniques for paper products and enhancing properties like bulk, softness, liquid absorption, and environmental friendliness, attracting numerous distributors for ordering and negotiations.
Ø Disposable Hygiene Products Pavilion: Caring for Health, Embracing Quality Life
The Disposable Hygiene Products Pavilion featured a strong lineup of leading companies, such as Kayson, Yuhong, Sun’o, Qianzhiya, Tianjiao, Megasoft, Coco, Sunkiss, Aishule, Welfare, E-Way, Tongling Jieya, Guoguang, and Yixiang, all presenting impressive exhibits. Innovative products included sanitary napkins and open-close daily menstrual pants using natural fibers like cotton and bamboo; baby diapers with skin-friendly, hypoallergenic properties and baby diapers with Chinese-style packaging; adult care products registered with a medical device license and gender-specific light incontinence products; moist toilet tissues, functional wipes, and more. These provided more choices for distributors, agents, maternal and infant stores, and e-commerce players.
Ø Raw & Auxiliary Material Pavilion: Performance Enhancement & Sustainable Development
In the Raw & Auxiliary Material Pavilion, nearly 300 suppliers conducted annual new product and technology releases and promotions on-site, covering nonwovens, films, SAP, hot melt adhesive, packaging and printing materials, etc. Various raw and auxiliary materials are becoming more functionally segmented, with continuously improving performance, and steadily progressing towards green and environmentally friendly directions, laying the foundation for the industry’s sustainable development.
Ø Machinery Pavilion: Digital Intelligence Optimizes Upgrading
The Machinery Pavilion gathered numerous leading equipment manufacturers for live machine demonstrations, offering a fresh experience in smart manufacturing. With new technologies like TAD tissue machines and TAD-like tissue machines entering the domestic market, the changes brought to the industry are gradually becoming apparent. Digital intelligence in hygiene product equipment aids high-efficiency production, and packaging equipment operation is more flexible and user-friendly. A steady stream of visitors watched the live equipment demonstrations.
Ø Focusing on the Health & Medical Care Sector, Expanding the Blue Ocean Market
The Health & Medical Care Industry Pavilion, launched in 2021, has received widespread attention from the industry, becoming an effective aid for companies planning to enter the blue ocean market of big health industry. After three years of cultivation, this pavilion has grown stronger. In 2023, nearly 50 representative companies gathered on-site, providing more choices for visiting distributors, agents, e-commerce players, pharmacies, and maternal and infant stores.
Concurrently, a Health & Medical Care Forum was held during the expo, inviting industry experts and corporate executives to share trends in the elderly care industry face-to-face with the entire industry.
Ø Centralized Display of Elderly-Friendly Products, Tapping the Silver Economy Potential
To implement the national Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of the Elderly Products Industry (《关于促进老年用品产业发展的指导意见》), this year’s expo specially featured a display area for products shortlisted in the “Elderly Products Promotion Catalogue,” conducting on-site product displays to jointly explore the potential of the silver economy and promote the development of the elderly care industry.
Ø Leading Consumption Trends, Showcasing Craftsmanship Brands
On-site at CIDPEX 2023, the 21 branded products shortlisted for the “National Campaign for ‘Variety, Quality, and Brand’: 2023 ‘Craftsmanship Products’ List in China’s Tissue Paper and Hygiene Products Industry” were displayed collectively. This enhanced the visibility of these products and allowed more consumers to discover, purchase, and use them. Compared to ordinary products, Craftsmanship Products boast superior quality, enhanced safety, and better meet consumers’ needs of upgrading consumption, holding significant importance for improving the quality of tissue and hygiene products and promoting high-quality industry development.
Ø “Showcasing” New Product, “Showcasing” New Trends
To allow industry visitors to more intuitively grasp industry trends and quickly understand the most distinctive innovative products and technologies, CIDPEX 2023 featured a range of dedicated displays for Products, Outstanding Suppliers, and Leadership & Innovation. Many companies held on-site sharing sessions to display their flagship and specialty products and technologies, attracting large audiences.
Synergizing with E-commerce Platforms for Multi-Channel Consumer Reach
To enhance the display effect of CIDPEX, help enterprises gain dual traffic from both offline professional visitors and online consumers, and expand both online and offline channels, CIDPEX 2023 collaborated with e-commerce platforms such as Tmall, JD, Youzan, and Jiguo. Through scenarios + product displays, on-site forums, and other forms at the expo, it attracted different consumer groups, providing new ideas and gathering new targets for enterprises. The expo also utilized well-known mass media for comprehensive, multi-level publicity to increase exposure and expand the expo’s audience.
Tmall’s Trending Categories Display Area adopted an immersive, scenario-based setup and full-category product display, offering visitors a unique expo experience. Divided into five thematic scenes – travel, bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen – it displayed products from renowned brands including Breeze, BABO, Yusen, Hearttex, CoRou, Deeyeo, Ein.b, COTTON SHOOTS, Virjoy, Fuyanjie, and Manhua. Displayed products included toilet tissues, facial tissues, kitchen towels, wipes, moist toilet tissues, cotton soft towels, hand towels, etc., allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the charm of “tissue” and “hygiene” products in one stop.
JD’s Trending Categories Display Area, set up in collaboration with CIDPEX, also made a splendid appearance. Divided into four thematic scenes – Travel, Bedroom, Bathroom, and Living Room, it displayed products from 13 renowned brands including BeBeBus, Dr. P & TENA, Babycare, Vinda, CoRou, Deeyeo, Shecare, ITIKAWA, SYNIA, Chilly, Fuyanjie, C&S, and Bibabebe. These covered maternal and infant products, home cleaning products, personal care products, and trendy new products, not only leading consumption and development trends for paper products but also helping consumers better enjoy a quality life.
Tmall and JD Tissue Paper Industry Trend Forum was held during the expo. Multiple experts gathered on site to provide in-depth interpretations of high-interest topics like live stream marketing strategies and market trends, aiding the healthy development of enterprises.
To increase consumer awareness and enhance the influence of CIDPEX, highlights from this year’s expo were disseminated from multiple angles and extensively across over 50 mass media and professional media outlets, including Tencent and People’s Daily, boosting the expo’s exposure. In-depth interviews were also conducted with entrepreneurs from the tissue and hygiene products industry to expand the influence of exhibiting brands and strengthen brand recognition among consumers.
FOCUS Tissue & Hygiene Conference: Focusing on Hot Topics, Gaining Insights into Industry Trends
The CIDPEX 2023 FOCUS Tissue & Hygiene Conference was held on May 12th–13th at the Nanjing International Expo Conference Center. The conference was divided into the Wipes Conference, and other three main sessions: Market and Marketing, Tissue Paper, and Disposable Hygiene Products, featuring a total of 49 keynote speeches and one interactive forum. With a global and forward-looking perspective, it focused on the two major industries of tissue paper and hygiene products, gathered global industry experts, concentrated on high-interest topics, and provided the latest industry knowledge for enterprises, attracting nearly 700 industry participants.
The conference revolved around hot topics such as innovation and development, safety, and dual-carbon goals, standard requirements, biodegradability, sustainability, energy conservation and consumption reduction, new materials, new technologies, and new equipment. It focused on new marketing ideas, overseas expansion, and other issues, accurately grasping the latest changes in macroeconomics and policies, and providing insight into new industry trends.
The atmosphere at the FOCUS Conference was lively for discussion and exchange. Attendees could ask questions online at any time, with the moderator selecting common questions for the speakers to answer on-site, enhancing interactivity. Participants highly praised the conference’s theme planning, selection of speech content, and the setup of the interactive forum.
To adapt to the trend of digital experience, this year’s FOCUS Conference continued to use electronic credentials, providing an all-in-one pass for conference materials, sessions, and lunch, convenient and efficient. Furthermore, the organizer uploaded recorded speech videos to the Cloud Service Platform for online learning by attendees, breaking limitations of space and time.
